Electrical Assembler - Level 2
The essential job function is performing the electrical assembly of components to production machinery. This includes modifying existing customer products and building new products to customer specifications.
EDUCATION
Associate degree from a trade school or community college or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS
Five plus years capital equipment experience.
Extensive knowledge of electrical components, schematics, and symbols.
Ability to use electrical testing and diagnostic equipment, along with all hand tools and power tools associated with electrical assembly.
Physical requirements: stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to the floor, and lift up to 60 pounds, without difficulty. Periodically laying prone under machinery or on knees for completion of electrical assembly tasks. Some ladder climbing. Periodically required to work at heights of 15 to 20 feet for machine wiring, assembly, or trouble shooting purposes. Visual acuity for reading machine dial gauges, electrical diagrams, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments is important. Auditory acuity to monitor machine sound changes in order to diagnose and remedy equipment problems. Subject to operating large machines and physical exposure from moving equipment and machine parts. Skin subject to oil exposure.
Mental requirements: subject to frequent overtime requirements, changes in job duties and assignments (often without much notice), and constant or frequent deadline pressures. Ability to consider alternatives and make decisions. Capability to use shop floor computer terminals and data recording.
Other requirements: occasional travel to customer sites for initial installation. Ability to work effectively as part of a work team. Good interpersonal and oral communication skills.
