Assistant Controller
Supports and learns to manage all areas of accounting, compilation, and publication of financial statements, budgets, and forecast. Provides analysis and insight to top management on budget to actual performance and other financial issues for the North American operations. In addition, the incumbent will learn to manage the cost accounting function for the purpose of timely and accurate product cost, variance, and inventory level reporting.
EDUCATION
A Bachelor's degree in Finance and/or Accounting is required, a CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of eight years of accounting experience in manufacturing with at least five years in the capital equipment industry preferred.
Minimum three to five years supervisory and cost accounting experience.
In-depth knowledge of integrated accounting systems in an ERP environment. SAP experience a plus.
In-depth knowledge of all functions within the Finance department.
General knowledge of all functions and processes within the company.
In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, especially related to revenue recognition, inventory valuation, and transfer pricing.
In-depth knowledge of personal computers software applications and systems for gathering and reporting company financial information.
Ability to read and analyze financial statements to explain variances, make judgments, and assess the risk of company accruals and reserves.
General knowledge of foreign currency translation and forward contracts.
